Traditional Victorian Design - Internal Door
Replicating the solid construction of a 4 panel internal door requires many skills, i take my hat off to the victorian joiners of the past who were able to make these.
Victorian Proportions
Wide base and lock rails with 125mm wide stiles
44mm Thick kiln dried poplar Frame
Liriodendron tulipifera - American Yellow Poplar / Tulipwood
A fine texture with a light cream to pale green appearance, often with vibrant purple and black features.
It is straight-grained, fairly soft and light in weight around 510 kg/m³ when dried
Common tree grows up to and beyond 37m with a trunk diameter of 2m or more.
Traditional joinery construction
Stub tenon construction on the muntins (Central vertical components)
